Terms of Use

These terms are deliberately short and contain none of the mechanics this site documents: no unilateral-change clause without notice, no waiver of your rights, no fine print that contradicts the headline.

What this site is

Sly by Design is a documentary registry and commentary site. It quotes and analyses the published terms of South African financial products under a stated methodology. It describes what documents say; it does not assert what any institution intended, and it does not assert that any documented mechanic is unlawful.

Not advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice or financial advice. Registry entries describe archived documents as they read on their capture dates; providers change their documents, and the current terms of any product are the ones the provider publishes today. If a decision matters, read the provider’s current documents and take professional advice.

Accuracy and corrections

Entries are produced and verified under the site’s methodology, and errors are corrected openly under the corrections policy stated there. Anyone may request a correction via corrections@slybydesign.com. What this site warrants is narrow and stated in the methodology: on the date of capture, the archived documents said what the entries quote them saying.

Intellectual property

Original content on this site — entries, essays, analysis, and design — is © Sly by Design / Arnold Petersen. You may quote from it with attribution and a link. Quoted clauses from provider documents remain the property of their institutions and are reproduced here in limited, attributed form for the purposes of documentation, criticism, and review.

Liability

The site is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by South African law, the site and its operator are not liable for decisions made in reliance on its content — which is one more reason to read the providers’ current documents before making one.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the change and its effective date will be noted on this page. You will not need a magnifying glass.

Effective: 24 July 2026. These terms are governed by South African law.
